Last Sunday was the first day of summer camp at Hidden Falls Ranch. And 45 years after my first day there, it seems the place still controls my life.
My concept of God – a loving redeemer who longs to have a relationship with His people, my purpose in life – to bring hope to those without it, and my philosophy of teaching – most of the important things are caught rather than taught, all come from my days at camp.
As do my friends, either directly or indirectly.
Which means that, one, I met some of you at HFR. And, two, camp taught me what a true friend is. Which, eventually, led me to the rest of you.
