Yuk.<\/p>\n<p>I hate to be sick on holidays. And as long as I&#8217;m whining\u2014<\/p>\n<p>Went to fix a flat yesterday and came home with two new tires. On Christmas Eve, when one has all that spare cash lying around. Not!<\/p>\n<p>Then, Charlotte noticed a leak on the basement hot water heater. Was beginning to soak the carpet. And the plumbers&#8217; answering service kept putting me on hold. Seems others&#8217; catastrophes were greater than mine.<\/p>\n<p>But then\u2014I\u00a0 have friends undergoing chemo this week; others are experiencing their first Christmas with an empty chair at the table.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;m sure Mary and Joseph would have welcomed a warm house, even one with a leaky hot water heater.<\/p>\n<p>Yep, I need a throat lozenge AND some perspective:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And the angel said to them, &#8216;Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people&#8221; (Luke 2:10).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christmas morning and I have a sore throat.
