And it\u2019s the reason we\u2019re arguing.<\/p>\n<p>She wants to throw it away. \u201cI don\u2019t need it, and our kids won\u2019t want it,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it\u2019s history,\u201d I say. \u201cOne day a little girl will look at it and know her great-great grandmother was good at basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t that good,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd we don\u2019t have room in the new house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOK,\u201d says I. \u201cSo what about these?\u201d I\u2019m holding a pair of knickers I wore on the slopes of Red River in 1967.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou haven\u2019t fit in those since we married,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it\u2019s history.
