Well, almost.<\/p>\n<p>In 1836 the new Republic of Texas claimed Santa Fe as part of its western border towns and soon sent a small military party to enforce the claim. This group was easily captured by the Mexican Army, putting an end to all hope of ski resorts in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>We came to Santa Fe for the weekend because we were between hosts in our 2016 Homeless Tour\u2014and because I needed the spiritual lift and perspective I usually find here.<\/p>\n<p>You see, not yet 30 days into retirement, I\u2019ve met an unexpected adversary: uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I listed nearly three dozen things I don\u2019t know (things like the projected success of investments, the efficacy of a new budget, future business plans, and scores of  last-minute building decisions).<\/p>\n<p>For an avid planner, it\u2019s unfamiliar territory.<\/p>\n<p>The scary thing is I\u2019m thinking it may be good for me.
