I\u2019m thankful for skilled craftsmen. Am watching one of our famous West Texas sunrises as I write these words, and I\u2019m thankful for it, too.<\/p>\n<p>At a friend\u2019s suggestion, last spring I started every prayer with 10 things for which I was thankful<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t do it with every prayer now, nor every day, but when I do, I\u2019m finding that gratefulness is powerful stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t know if it makes my prayers more effective, but it certainly helps me.<\/p>\n<p>Makes me more positive, less critical; more confident, less fearful; more relaxed, less uptight.<\/p>\n<p>I smile more when I\u2019m grateful.<\/p>\n<p>And, interestingly enough, I find more things to put in this blog.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Installed countertops yesterday, and the bricklayers finished an inside fireplace\u2014both beautiful work.
