Afterwards, Charlotte and I will eat out\u2014a Sunday tradition and another constant.<\/p>\n<p>Then, we\u2019ll make a trip to the new home (a new constant) and somehow I\u2019ll work in the obligatory afternoon nap. Tonight we\u2019ll go out with friends (Stuart and Cindy have been in our lives for over 40 years).<\/p>\n<p>Even this blog has become a constant. Knowing I\u2019ll be writing one daily has made me more aware\u2014always on the lookout for what life is showing me.<\/p>\n<p>And, finally, you readers have become a predictable pleasure in my new routine. Whether I\u2019m sharing the loss of our good friend Williance or poking fun at the forced togetherness of retired spouses, your comments are encouraging.<\/p>\n<p>They remind me of another\u2014maybe the best\u2014constant in life: Good friends. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sunrise this morning reminded me that\u2014with all this change\u2014there are still constants in my life.
