And, today, there\u2019s reason for hope. According to one source, 55% of adults 65 and older walk for leisure in a given week.<\/p>\n<p>Good news\u2014right?\u2014but the same study found only 13% do it consistently or at recommend levels.<\/p>\n<p>If I was writing a dissertation for a Ph.D. program, I would use this fact to introduce my research project: How can we significantly raise that percentage? What will get people walking more?
