Pray for Williance

Please pray for my friend Williance.

He is from Cameroon and married to Chrystelle, one of my all-time favorite students.

This young couple left their home country nearly five years ago—he to France and she to the U.S.—so they could one day make a successful life together.

Chrystelle flew to Paris in December of 2014 where they married. Last September, Williance joined her in Amarillo. I signed papers as his sponsor.

Ten days ago this sweet couple was blessed with their first child, a winsome little guy named James.

Yesterday, Williance was found unconscious in their apartment pool. Last night we almost lost him.

I’m convinced he’s still alive because of the fervent prayers of an amazing wife, who refused to let him go, and who fought with the best weapon any of us could choose under similar circumstances.

Williance is stable, but we don’t yet know the extent of his brain activity. Thus, my prayer request.

Some days, there are more important things to share than the musings of a retired English prof.

This is one of them.
